The central festivity of the town is organized since 1986. The name “legrica” originated from the Italian word “allegro“, meaning “merrily” and therefore “legrica” has for many years been a synonym for great fun and dancing till sunrise, with good food from the many booths set up for the occasion. Along with classic meat and sometimes fish dishes, excellent pancakes and fritters baked in front of customers are offered in the boots. During “legrica” guests and locals can enjoy the rich island gastronomic offer and midnight fireworks. The program starts early in the afternoon with a variety of traditional games, such as sack race, egg-and-spoon race, human wheelbarrow, bucket race, in the centre (shooting a ball in the tire), wheelbarrow race and rope pulling. This is followed by a concert of a popular singer or band that lasts until early morning hours.
