Sutomišćica
With 336 inhabitants, Sutomišćica is located in a large sheltered bay that is a haven for boaters (Olive Island Marina is one of the best marinas on the Adriatic). In the village is the baroque summer residence of the Zadar noble family Lantana from the 17th century, the Church of St. Gregory from the 14th century and the Early Christian Church of St. Euphemia, who is also the patron saint of the village. The professionally equipped football field in the centre of Sutomišćica by the sea is the pride of the island football club St. Michael. To the southwest of the village is the Vela Glava hill (238 m), offering a magnificent view of the Zadar archipelago and Ravni kotari. Sutomišćica is located on the regional road running along the island. The Lantana summer residence with its spacious park and chapel has all characteristics of a Baroque Venetian construction. The ceremony of handing over the duty of the Venetian dodge for Dalmatia and Albania was organized in the same.
