Island Sestrunj
Sestrunj is a very unusual island; it looks like a mountain rising from the sea. 80 percent of the island is covered in forest, and the village itself is situated on the hill, as in the old times. That position provides a memorable view of the Zadar archipelago. When you’re on the island, explore the church of Our Lady of Health, and join the feast of St. Peter, the patron saint. The main bay on the island is Kablin, containing an oil mill. If the main harbor is closed due to strong winds, the boat can dock in the port of Hrvatinj.
Sestrunj preserves the authenticity of the island and its way of life. Adventure-seeking people can explore the abandoned old town, the coastline and marine life, and those looking for peace can just surrender to the island’s charm.
